Epilogue
Who knows where our future travels may take us! The table has open room for
discussion and suggestions. An Alaskan cruise has been bandied about. Hawaii is
a goal for both of us. Luis has an upcoming trip to San Diego that I would
happily accompany him on. Who knows - the sky is the limit (some day maybe it
won't be!).

Vacation Time!
Here are trips from 2000 back to our first trip together in 1993!
Niagara Falls, Canada
22 - 27 May 2000
| The beautiful B&B we stayed in. It was lovely and I highly recommend the Fairbanks House! |
| The Skylon Tower overlooking the
falls on a very misty day. The tower has a spinning restaurant atop. |
| The Locks on the
Welland Canal seen from the Cessna. Again, it was AMAZING! |
| The gorge allowed for amazing shots of the Whirlpool and the rapids we went
jet boating through. |
| Niagara Falls seen from a Cessna - too bad it was not a sunny day, but it was still breathtaking and gorgeous to look upon. |
|
Jet boating clothes on and ready to go! We got soaked but we had an enormously fun time! |
| A large frigate entering Lock
#3 of the Welland Canal. This ship was heading upstream and needed to be lifted 300 feet (approx. 100 metres). |
| The
frigate that came in has risen up the 30m, and is ready to sail along (very
slowly) to the next lock. It takes days to get through the entire Welland
Canal. |
| Luis in mid-air on
the trip behind the Horseshoe Falls.
I love this photo of him - he is like a little boy! |
|
The Horseshoes at dusk, seen from the Skylon Tower.
Later the falls had different colors from the spotlight show. |
| The precipice of the Horseshoe Falls. The level of water is extremely shallow - maybe 18 inches or 30cm - but the water is powerful! |
| The rapids leading into the Whirlpool in the Niagara Gorge. These were the more powerful rapids and there was no
jet boating on these! |
|
The Rainbow Falls, which are located on the American side. These are shorter, narrower falls with a small falls next to it on the right called the Bridal Veil.
| | The Horseshoe Falls, which are on the Canadian side. These were by far the most spectacular falls!
They were also much higher, steeper and stronger. |
Palm Springs, California
5 - 11 June 1999
I have always wanted to see Pacific Ocean and the San Andreas fault.
This trip gave me the opportunity to achieve both of those goals. I also took many hiking
trips and other tours of the deserts. There are three deserts in that area
- the Mojave, Sonoran and Colorado Deserts. All were totally different from one
another and just breathtaking. I loved every moment of every day that I was there
and I will always remember that trip. Even if I don't the 22 rolls of film I took
will help jog the old memory!
| The sun rising to light the Santa Maria mountains, old volcanic ruins form eons ago. The ruddy
colour of the mountains was beautiful. | | The San Andreas Fault runs right through the Little San
Bernardino Hills and
through this hill! |
| The Joshua Trees in the National Park - these are not like any trees I have ever seen or felt before. The park with its unusual flora and fauna was amazing! | | One of my dreams has always been to see the Pacific Ocean. |
| There I am, standing upon the rocky beach at Crystal Cove State Park. The beach was amazing! | | Skull Rock and the other rock formations I saw driving through Joshua Tree National Park were incredible. |
Las Vegas, Nevada
3 - 9 November 1993
Las Vegas was a fun-filled trip of constant gambling, shows and debauchery! We went to all the casinos;
we saw the Melinda First Lady of Magic and Siegfried and Roy and many other wonderfully entertaining shows.
It was myself and Luis and three computer-geek friends: Tom Filliman, Don and Lee Spivak. While I would not
really want to do a vacation with a group again, we had a lovely time and I have no complaints about the
threesome we went with - they were heaps of fun!
| This was taken from our hotel window. There are maybe two storms per year in Las Vegas and we were there for one of them! |
| This is the Mirage
Volcano, which erupts every hour |
| The Holy Cow Brewery. From left to right: Lee, Tom, Don & Luis |
| The infamous pirate ship battle at the Treasure Island casino |
